Rob Goecks has spent over 25 years in senior financial management positions with large and midsized financial institutions and with governmental and regulatory entities. He has held such titles as Practice leader with an accounting firm and Executive Director of AML Compliance with an international bank.
Rob Goecks heads the firm’s Bank Secrecy/Anti-Money Laundering practice.
With more than twenty-five years in senior financial management positions, Rob has worked for large and midsized financial institutions and with governmental and regulatory entities. Most recently, he was the Practice Leader of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) Compliance Services for the New York accounting firm of Eisner LLP, and previously Executive Director of AML Compliance with an international bank.
Rob has deep and varied expertise in AML compliance. He had a career as a Special Agent with IRS Criminal Investigations, where he conducted and supervised money-laundering investigations, spent a year as a Special Investigator of sales practice violations for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and served as the Executive Director of AML Compliance for the U.S. subsidiary of a Canadian bank. In one position, an established private bank/wealth management firm hired Rob to be their AML Compliance Officer. The firm had a pre-existing Cease and Desist Order involving weaknesses in their AML Program, but with Rob’s leadership the Order was lifted within six months of his arrival.
A past member of the Board of the New York State Society of CPAs and Founding Chair of the Society’s Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorist Financing Committee, Rob is now a member of the Board of Trustees for the John Jay College Foundation, Inc., and Chair of its Audit Committee. Rob is also a member of the NY Chapter of the Executive Board for the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists, where he serves as Treasurer.
Rob has a BA degree in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington
