Marc Liebowitz heads the firm’s Insurance and Risk Management practice. His work with CFO Consulting Partners primarily focuses on meeting our insurance clients’ accounting, finance, operating and regulatory needs. Marc’s work at the firm employs both his twenty plus years of senior-level risk management experience and channeling the firm’s resources into insurance industry related matters.
He has substantial experience developing effective operating and risk management strategies through capital modeling, quantitative analysis and peer benchmarks. His expertise includes performing detail operating and marketing analyses that can be used towards improving loss performance, reducing expenses or increasing product distribution.
Marc also provides expert guidance in optimizing insurance company relationships with rating agencies. This includes reports to mirror the capital and operating models used by the rating’s team, to build the rating agency presentation and to development the insight necessary to optimize the rating agency relationship. This information can be modified or repurposed for operational analyses or board and investor presentations.
Drawing on his insurance expertise, Marc works with firm’s resources to build accounting systems, produce quarterly and year-end GAAP and Statutory reports and bolster current asset security functions. His team has expertise in a number of emerging insurance related requisites such as cyber security and predictive modeling.
For over fifteen years, Marc assigned debt ratings to insurance companies as a Senior Ratings Analyst with A.M. Best Company. An expert in both GAAP and Statutory Accounting principles, Marc evaluated major domestic and international companies assessing capital strength, financial results and the overall competiveness of a company’s operations relative to its peers. Prior to A.M. Best, Marc worked in multi-national insurance companies with senior responsibilities in budgeting, planning, financial systems, claims audit and operations.
Marc has an MBA from Middlebury Institute and a BA from the University of Hartford.
